Most Memorable Incident: The 1st time I did Northshore, I had no idea what to expect - a lead pack with 50-75 skaters, like no other race ever.. The 2nd time, I did a lot of the pulling up front. We caught the pro women before 1/2 way. The pack was huge (75-100 skaters)!

What do you get from Skating: Skating was the catalyst that helped me quit smoking, lose around 50 lbs, I've never been more fit in my life because of it. The level of fitness required to do this sport well goes way beyond any other sport I've ever been involved in. And I love the friends I've made in the sport.

Would like to do this Year in Skating: Work, and other priorities have kept me from the # of events this year. I want to do Northshore!

Coolest Accomplishment: related to skating.. 3rd place in the NROC championship for 2009.

Other Sports/Hobbies you Enjoy: Golf, Playing guitar

Favorite skating gadget/tool: My GPS I use for training.

Mentors: Renee Coffman - She is way cool and has done nothing but help me expand my love for this sport.

Helpful advice to other skaters/ Beginners: Lower your expectations when you first start skating. improvements come with practice, not with motivation. Have fun! You are going to fall down, so stop worrying about it, because it makes you a slower skater.
